On Monday morning, we who remained at camp packed up. Kyle and Marie headed off to enjoy some hot springs while Mom and Dad went with us to check out a local ghost town called Roseberry. Such a neat place. There were some old log buildings there built by Finnish immigrants that were still standing and in great condition. Made me realize how much less we ought to be content with as I drool over bigger homes ;) The town also had an old church and shop that were left just as they were 100 years ago, and has acquired several other historic buildings over the years. Pretty interesting!
Grampa and Jerry with the boys in front of the old shop. Everything was closed when we were there, but a kind man drove up on his golf cart and offered to let us look around. Mr Eld, it turns out, is the mayor and sheriff of the town and also the owner of the general store and several other historic buildings.
Views of the town.
We arrived back in Nampa on Monday night. It was a good week spent doing laundry and visiting family and old friends. Above is a photo of George and Bridgette VanderWoude who invited us over for lunch. Good people, the VanderWoudes :) Other good people there too, but this is the only photo we got!
